    Dr. Chintan Desai, is a sports medicine specialist and shoulder surgeon with fellowship training from USA, Portugal, Korea and Australia. He has completed his sports medicine diploma from FIFA and the International Olympics Committee.

    He is the only Indian doctor invited to the Winter Olympics 2018, Pyeongchang, Korea by the International Olympics Committee.

    He is consultant Shoulder Surgeon and Sports Medicine Specialist at Breach Candy Hospital, Jaslok Hospital, Saifee Hospital and Nirmala Hospital, Mahalaxmi.

    He is an expert in performing Shoulder Arthroscopic Surgery for rotator cuff tendon repair, recurrent shoulder dislocation repairs (Arthroscopic Bankart and Laterjet Surgery), Arthroscopic release for frozen shoulders, calcific tendonitis treatments, ultrasound guided injections for tendinopathy and shoulder replacement surgery.

    He is the First Shoulder Surgeon in India to have successfully performed the STEMLESS TOTAL SHOULDER REPLACEMENT SURGERY.

    Dr. Desai was selected for the prestigious IASES (Indian American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons Society) fora travelling fellowship program. He visited 7 centres of excellence all across the USA with 7 American Shoulder Surgeons (Baylor Scott and White - Dallas, Texas, Rush Medical - Chicago, John Hopkins - Baltimore, NYU Langone - New York, Harvard Medical - Boston). He learnt several latest advances and uses them on a regular basis in Indiato improve patient outcomes.

    October 2015 to December 2016 - AUSTRALIA

    Dr. Desai has completed his fellowship in sports medicine and shoulder surgery at St. George Hospital, Sydney, Australia vith his mentor Prof. George Murrell. While training in Australia he has performed many key hole (arthroscopy) shoulder surgeries and shoulder replacement surgeries (reverse shoulder replacement and anatomical shoulder replacement). He is working on research projects at the Orthopaedic Research Institute Kogarah, Sydney, Australia.

    March 2015to June 2015 - SOUTH KOREA

    He has completed his fellowship in shoulder surgery at the prestigious Seoul National University, Bundang Hospital, Seoul, South Korea under the guidance of Prof. Joo Han Oh.

    He was awarded the best scientific paper award at the Asia Arthroscopy Congress 2015 for his research paper titles Does size matter? - Preoperative evaluation of spinoglenoid ganglion cyst with MRI, EMG and isokinetic muscle test.”

    September 201410 December 2014 - PORTUGAL

    He completed his scholarship in sports medicine, sports traumatology and knee surgery (arthroscopic and knee replacement surgery) at the prestigious FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence at Porto, Portugal under the guidance of Prof. Joao Espregueira Mendes.

    He published a chapter (as a co-author) titled "Knee medial collateral ligament injuries" in the book “Football Traumatology - Second Edition by ESSKA (The European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy).
