1992 - Kenton Leathermann Clinical Spine Fellowship – University of Louisville, Kentucky, USA.

STARTED THE FIRST EVER EXCLUSIVE SPINE UNIT IN THE COUNTRY1988-1993- As the Professor of Orthopaedics at the K.E.M. Hospital and Seth G.S. Medical College, Bombay .

1998 - Founded THE SPINE FOUNDATION
This foundation is involved in serving the tribal-non tribal rural population of and around Gadchiroli in association with an NGO called SEARCH. (Since last 20+ years). It now also serves rural communities throughout the country through 15 centres such centres.

2009 - The Spine Foundation started the centre at the V.N. DESAI MUNICIPAL GENERAL HOSPITAL in Mumbai to treat poor patients in urban city of Mumbai.

The Spine Foundation is also involved in training of young orthopaedic surgeons in the field of spine surgery through a The Spine Foundation Fellowship Program and also has been conducting Spine Workshops across India to promote Spine Surgeries amongst the orthopaedics and neurosurgeons.
